Thanks for stopping by! I’m Susan – a Scotland based blogger. My blog focuses on foraging, including plants, mushrooms, weeds and discarded items I can convert into jewellery and other “things”. If you don’t want to miss any of my blog posts then please subscribe below
Welcome to my blog, and in case you didn’t know, this site is aimed at the “beginner” forager or hobbyist. You know, people who want to occasionally dip their toe into the world of foraging. Who, every now and then, want to get out into the fresh air and frolic with nature for a while and have a bit of foraging fun. I really don’t want you to take it too seriously. But instead, to enjoy and have fun doing it. And, if this sounds like you, then please take a few seconds out and subscribe to my blog.
So, what more can I tell you about my blog? Firstly, I’m hoping that I can make it that little bit easier for you to identify, get to know, and learn the many uses of wildlife, fauna and flora. Secondly, I want to give you recipe choices for your foraged items. And last of all, I’ll share my crafting ideas with you. To date, the crafts haven’t, as yet, appeared in my blog but they will be coming soon. “Watch this space” as they say… And, of course, I want you to have some quality foraging fun time.
Creating a Niche
There are a plethora of blogs and websites out there that cover the subject of foraging. And facts are facts. No-one can change the id, habitats, growth cycles or specifics of any plant, tree, mushroom or what have you. However, what I can hope to do, is present it in a manner that grabs your attention and gives you what you need.
And this is where you come in. What I need, is for you to tell me what YOU would like to see and read about in my blog. What would make foraging fun for you? Moreover, I’m actively seeking your feedback. Because, this way, I can adapt and develop the blog in a manner that suits what you’re looking for from your foraging. That is to say, as a beginner, a hobbyist, someone who wants to have fun with it and play around with it for a while. After all, the blog isn’t about what I want to read and see, it’s about want you want. And how will I know what that is, unless you tell me…
Participate – Guest Blog Posts
Moving forward, it would be great to see your participation in my blog. For instance, maybe setting up a blog is something that you wanted to do for yourself, but it’s just not possible for one reason or another. And I understand that, it’s hard work managing a blog, more so than I ever though it would be. So, why don’t you share the odd foraging adventure or two on my blog?
“Strength lies in differences, not in similarities.”
You can write when you want to (or can) and then I’ll publish it for you, on my blog, under a new page heading I’m planning. The name of which still eludes me, but I was thinking something along the lines of “Guest Blogs” or “Guest Spot”. However, if you can think of a more creative page heading please let me know.
Does this sound like something you would like to do? If so, then I’ll need the following from you… A short bio and a minimum of 300 words. Also, take some pics, (a phone camera is fine) of your foraging fun adventures and I’ll publish these alongside your post. It may well be that I’ll have to edit it a bit to make it ‘fit’ Google’s SEO (search engine optimization), but it’ll only be small changes…Then again, if you’re worried about your spelling or grammar, then please don’t. Just write it down, email it to me and I’ll do the rest! How does that sound to you?
Publish, Share & Subscribe
Maybe you would like to share a recipe or bush crafting skills you have? If so, I want to hear from you. Do your kids join you on your foraging adventures? Then, perhaps they might like to share their drawings and experiences? Once again, send them to me and I’ll find a place for them on my blog.
Hopefully, by now, you have the “gist” of what this post is about. And, If you want to participate, then please send your contribution to mailto:email@example.com. So please, don’t be shy, put your thinking cap on and start writing. I can’t wait to hear from you…
And before you go, if you haven’t done it already, make sure you subscribe to receive notification of all new posts.
